BOC Exam and BOC Pass Rates
In order to receive certification, an individual must complete a CAATE accredited athletic training education program. The program director of the CAATE accredited education program must confirm that the individual is eligible to sit for the exam. The exam can be taken during the final semester prior to graduation. Once registration is received and approved, the individual will receive a Notice to Schedule email with instructions to schedule the exam. A one-time application fee is required. Testing centers are located at various cities throughout the United States.

Individuals must be legally recognized by the appropriate state regulatory agency prior to practicing athletic training. The BOC exam is recognized by all Athletic Trainer state regulatory agencies to meet their exam requirement.
